Chinese Speaking Tour Guide - Freelancer, Budapest

Freelancing in my early 20's was great. I had my freedom, but if I wanted money I had to appear, bring along my best. I worked and studied before in China in Beijing and Xiamen. I worked for companies as translator. I was their eyes, ears, mouth and all the senses. It was super tiring and a translator could never eat. If I eat, it means that there is noone to do the job. With full mouth noone should speak.

I became a tourguide. I could eat, I earned money, it was 4 to 8 hours, I slept in my own bed and I was a showman. I represented Budapest and the Hungarian culture and history for thousands of Taiwanese tourists. Yes, back then very little amount of Chinese tourists came from Mainland China.

I still have contact with few tourists from those times. Some of them just came along in the bus and handed me namecards and said that they never see anyone like that. Today the number of the Chinese speakers are raising, in the early 2000's we counted something strange.

Today I am teching my kid Chinese, because you worth as many people as many languages you speak.
